Abstract
The automobile gasoline detergency refers to the environmentally friendly property of reducing or preventing the formation of deposits in the fuel pipeline, intake system, and combustion chamber of the engine. In order to ascertain the applicability of the simulation test of intake valve deposit (IVD) method for gasoline detergency detection, we gathered automobile gasoline without detergent from a storage depot in Beijing and various commercially available gasoline detergents as experimental samples to conduct IVD simulation tests. The test results show that the source of gasoline, gasoline batch, gasoline detergent brand, testing laboratory, and testing equipment have no significant effect on the determination results of IVD simulation test. Furthermore, the IVD simulation test method can replace the M111 bench test method as the main detection and arbitration method for gasoline detergency. The IVD simulation test method exhibits excellent applicability for detecting gasoline detergency, which can effectively support the supervision of gasoline detergency under complex testing environments.
