Research of a Pollution Transmission Event Based on Jinan Lidar Monitoring Networking

  • To achieve coordinated three-dimensional observations of pollution transmission processes, the self-developed lidar network system was deployed and operated in Jinan, obtaining lidar observation data in four perspectives: horizontal, vertical, wind field, and visibility. Combined with monitoring information from air quality monitoring station, comprehensive analysis was conducted on the pollution transport event that occurred from November 2nd to 3rd, 2023. The lidar's horizontal scanning effectively monitored the processes of the pollution plume's entry, transport, accumulation, and transit during this event, providing evidence for analyzing the formation mechanism of atmospheric pollution and tracing pollution sources. In terms of vertical monitoring, the evolution of the pollution plume's entry was observed from both temporal and spatial dimensions, and the relationship between it and changes in particulate matter concentration was analyzed. Additionally, data from the wind lidar revealed that wind speed and direction have a significant impact on pollution processes, further validating the crucial role of meteorological conditions in pollution transport. The visibility lidar monitored real-time changes in visibility distance following the pollution event, providing a basis for assessing pollution levels and their impact on people's lives. The lidar monitoring network demonstrated comprehensive observation capabilities during this pollution event, not only accurately obtaining information on pollution sources, pollution causes, and related meteorological data, but also providing scientific evidence and reference for the effective implementation of local pollution control and regional joint prevention and control efforts.
