Progress of Applied Research on Fluidized-bed Technology in Wastewater Treatment

  • Fluidized bed process has broad engineering application prospects and has attracted much attention by water treatment researchers in recent years. A variety of reactor structures and process combinations have been developed, such as struvite fluidized bed crystallizers and three-phase biological fluidized bed. The technology has the advantages of compact structure, fast response and easy operation. According to the removal mechanisms of pollutants in the wastewater, the fluidized bed reactors were divided into two categories, i.e. fluidized bed crystallizers and fluidized bed bioreactors. The applied research status of the technology in the treatment of phosphorus, fluoride, sulfur wastewater, textile wastewater, pesticide wastewater and some other kinds of industrial wastewaters was introduced, and the outlook of the development trend provided.
