居民生活垃圾低值可回收物分类及处理处置的碳减排潜力研究

Research on carbon emission reduction potential of sorting, treatment and disposal of low-value recyclables from municipal solid waste

  • 摘要: 居民生活垃圾分类与处理处置是城市重要的温室气体排放源之一。生活垃圾低值可回收物(LVR)分类有助于实现垃圾减量化及资源利用最大化,对建设环境友好型和资源节约型社会具有重要意义。以厦门市生活垃圾LVR分类试点社区为案例,基于IPCC清单指南,分析生活垃圾低值可可回收物的组成、碳排放特征及碳减排潜力。结果表明:1)由于经济水平不同,各社区LVR组成差异显著,废塑料占比最高(52.62%~58.40%),其次为废纸(16.42%~19.29%)、废玻璃(8.80%~11.58%),剩余为废瓷类、废纺织品及杂质;2)依据LVR分出率设置不同场景,净碳排放量从场景一(焚烧+填埋)的645.86 kg/t降至场景四(回收30%LVR)的374.24 kg/t;3)不确定分析显示,焚烧发电效率提高8%和回收产品替代降低20%,场景四净碳排放量分别减少了239.15 kg/t和增加了172.56 kg/t;4)当厦门市其他垃圾年焚烧量为161.37万t时,从其他垃圾回收30%的LVR可减少92.7万t的碳排放。

     

    Abstract: The sorting, treatment and disposal of municipal solid waste (MSW) is a significant source of urban greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The sorting of low-value recyclables (LVRs) in MSW helps reduce waste and maximize resource utilization, playing a critical role in the development of an environmentally friendly and resource-efficient society. Taking the pilot communities of LVR sorting in Xiamen as a case study, we analyzed the composition, carbon emission characteristics, and carbon reduction potential of MSW LVRs based on the IPCC inventory guidelines. The results indicated that: (1) Diverse economic levels resulted in significant differences in LVR composition between communities, where waste plastic comprised the highest proportion (52.62%-58.40%), followed by waste paper (16.42%-19.29%) and waste glass (8.80%-11.58%), with the remainder being waste ceramics, waste textiles, and impurities. (2) Different scenarios were set based on LVR sorting rates, with net carbon emissions decreasing from 645.86 kg/t in Scenario One (incineration + landfill) to 374.24 kg/t in Scenario Four (30% LVR recycling). (3) Uncertainty analysis showed that in Scenario Four, an 8% increase in incineration energy efficiency and a 20% reduction in product substitution from recycling led to a carbon emission reduction of 239.15 kg/t and an increase of 172.56 kg/t, respectively. (4)When the annual waste incineration amount in Xiamen reached 1. 6137 million tons, 30% LVR recycling from residual waste could reduce carbon emission reduction by 0.927 million tons annually.
